The Internet Would be a Better Place If …

Wouldn’t the Internet be a better place if Google blocked access to web search for anyone using an inferior browser? I would think that it would solve a huge problem with web development … Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6.

Think about it; employees who use the internet would be crippled if they were unable to use Google at work. And it’s not like the switch to another search engine is the easy fix. We’ve all learned to speak in the language of ‘Google’. When I want to find something I think exists on the Internet I am able to go to Google and nearly guarantee that it will be in the first page of results, or at least a result for a blog post or article linking to it. Trying the same thing in Yahoo! (or even worse, Live Search) does not deliver the same experience.

But then again, I guess the argument can be made that anyone using IE6 at work might not have a job that requires them to use the Internet with any level of proficiency.
